The TriGreen Equipment Leighton store originally opened in 1938, but closed in 1941 due to the hardships of WWII. It reopened in 1946. Then, in 1965, the store moved from downtown Leighton to the current building on Sockwell Lane where Ed Underwood, the son of Jim Underwood, began working for his father at the store. Jim retired in 1977, and Ed retired in 2009.

TriGreen Equipment of Leighton supports the 4-H Club and FFA events at Colbert County High School.
